1. How to Know the AI SafetyCam Is Powered On

The AI SafetyCam provides visual status indicators to confirm the camera is powered and operational.

Indicators That the Camera Is Ready

When the camera is functioning correctly:

  • LED indicators on the device illuminate
  • The camera initializes after vehicle power is detected
  • The system enters recording-ready mode automatically

The camera typically becomes active shortly after the vehicle ignition is turned on.

2. How to Confirm the Camera Is Recording

The AI SafetyCam continuously records while the vehicle is in operation.

Signs the Camera Is Recording

Recording can typically be confirmed through:

  • Active status LEDs
  • Device operational indicators
  • Event uploads appearing in the Azuga platform
  • SD card activity

The camera automatically manages recording without requiring driver interaction.

3. Recording Resolution

The AI SafetyCam records video in high-definition quality at 720p HD to ensure event clarity and accurate incident review.

4. Continuous Recording Behavior

Does the Camera Record During Trips?

Yes. The AI SafetyCam continuously records while the vehicle is operating.

The camera captures:

  • Road-facing footage
  • Driver-facing footage (if enabled)
  • AI-triggered events
  • Manual button press recordings

5. Parked Vehicle Recording

Does the Camera Record While Parked?

The camera does not record if the vehicle is stationary for more than 10 minutes, and it resumes recording once the vehicle starts moving again.

6. Recording After Trip Completion

How Long Does Recording Continue After a Trip Ends?

The AI SafetyCam continues recording for upto 10 minutes after the trip ends or ignition is turned off. This post-trip recording behavior helps capture:

  • Final parking activity
  • Post-drive incidents
  • Late-occurring events
  • Context after vehicle shutdown

7. SD Card Storage Capacity

Default Storage Configuration

The AI SafetyCam commonly ships with a 128GB SD card as the default storage configuration.

This onboard storage is used for:

  • Continuous loop recording
  • Event video storage
  • Buffered pre-event footage
  • Temporary retention before upload

Note: The SD cards and their recording capacities mentioned above do not include the Aux camera. When an Aux camera is connected, the SD card's storage will be divided for recordings from both the main camera and the Aux camera.

8. How Much Video Can Be Stored?

Approximately 100 hours of recording. If there is an auxiliary camera, the recording will be split between the main camera and the auxiliary camera.

Because the system uses loop recording:

  • Older footage is automatically overwritten
  • Important event videos are preserved separately
  • Storage is optimized automatically


A 128GB SD card can typically retain substantial rolling video history under normal fleet usage conditions.

10. How Recording Storage Works

Continuous Loop Recording

The AI SafetyCam uses loop recording to optimize storage.

This means:

  1. The camera continuously records video.
  2. When storage becomes full, the oldest non-protected footage is overwritten.
  3. Important event recordings are preserved separately.

This ensures uninterrupted recording without manual storage management.

11. Event-Based Video Protection

Certain videos are protected from overwrite automatically.

Examples include:

  • Collision events
  • Distracted driving events
  • G-force events
  • Button press recordings
  • AI-triggered safety events

These recordings are prioritized for upload and retention.
